Unto Begun Anew

-by Levi Klassen

Unto begun anew

Unraveling myself through the tendrils that sprout beneath the sky

I said “to a new beginning”

A glimpse around as if waiting for a sign long lost

Patience helps none here, yet, it once had.

Thump, thump

Pounding, piercing, puncturing

*I rest on the verge of being both drunken and lost*

To my right rests a cup, empty

To my left, I see me, empty

*I ache and claw at the devil we face every day*

Arched, clawing at the devil we face every day

“Ahhhh”

The sound of pattering rain stains the desk

As it is not the rain under the clouds,

But the rain under my face.
